I enjoyed reading “Seven Tales of Love” by Linda Mahkovec. This is a short book with seven different tales of love told by the author. I love the way that Linda Mahkovec writes descriptions that appeal to our senses. There is always a touch of beauty described: , art, flowers, food, fashion, and people. What is love? What is beauty? What are treasures? These are questions that I ask after reading Linda Mahkovec’s book. There is no age attached to love, it is ageless.
In each of these tales, the characters’ reality and dreams of love and beauty are discussed. Often there is disappointment, and growth .
Linda has an amazing way of describing her characters strengths and flaws. I would recommend this book for readers of Women’s Fiction.

Seven Tales of Love Linda Mahkovec 9781533085399 Books Reviews
I read another book by this author and liked it - so I thought I'd try this collection of short stories. I liked all the stories, especially the last one, Solomon Grundy. All the stories have a twist or something unexpected in them that makes you think.
This is an extremely nuanced collection of stories. Each one is like a gem, subtle and beautiful in its own way. My favorite was the last one Solomon Grundy. I sighed when I finished it and it was a sigh of contentment and pleasure. I look forward to reading more from the author.
Irene is bestowed with an incredible talent of capturing a moment that deeply resonates with her reader. In my favourite story Offering, for example, Irene weaves a tale that unravels at it its climax in a most affecting manner.
Most impressively, Irene manages to convey these tales of love without ever over-sentimentalising the stories or over-exaggerating a character's feelings. The stories have an honesty and fluidity that make them a real treasure to read.
Just like Linda’s other books this one was awesome also. The seven different stories are all about love and the beauty of it. Linda always describes things so beautifully. I would highly recommend this book. Each story is beautifully written and it makes you think. I hope Linda keeps writing forever because I love her books.
It's not the first book of hers that i've read and thank the lord it won't be the last! Never have i called a book sweet. Never. It sounds kinda tacky. But this book is one that does the heart good, it reaches in and pulls out feelings that were laying dormant. The true meaning of the word sweet is found within these pages....
Each story is amazing all on it's own, quite distinct. Yet i have to join the group of readers who feel that Solomon Grundy was their favorite. It was the one that made me a short story believer.
After reading it i had to put the book down, wipe the tears from my eyes, take a deep breath and take some time to think..................
I love Agnes Irene.
